The Role

B Lab Italy is looking for an Executive Director to steer the growth and collective impact of the B Corp Community in Italy. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and entrepreneurial leader to craft the way forward for this organization and lead a team of talented individuals.

The Executive Director plays an important role managing a pipeline of businesses aiming to certify as B Corps, and continuing to build a B Corp community which is strong, collaborative and inspired to stretch further in the impact they generate through their operations.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the following activities:

• Grow and manage the Italian B Corp market by developing processes to allow businesses to use and engage with B Lab’s tools, products and certification.
• Manage a diverse and intercultural team who is responsible for the B Corp community activities and for business development; implement processes and structures to enable the team to be successful and grow.
• Represent the B Corp movement in various meetings, policy forums, conferences, media and round tables, with the vision and methodology to create an inclusive economy for all, comprising the leaders of tomorrow as well as of today.
• Draw up and report on the budget based on strategies agreed with B Lab Europe and the supervisory board, and take responsibility for developing fundraising campaigns which may be needed to support special projects.
• Ensure the branding messaging, campaigning is on point within Italian business context and aligned with the European and Global vision of the movement.
• Develop a consistent strategy and plan for the Italian market and ensure its delivery against key targets as well as the ability to drive forward our ‘theory of change’ in Italy and then liaise with the B Lab Europe Team on establishing strategic priorities.
• Foster the Italian B Corp community and seek out topical opportunities that serve the B Corp community and its network well to ensure B Corps are on the agenda in sectors on the cutting edge of business.
• Represent the Italian B Corp movement and be the lead advocate for B Corps in Italy.
• Contribute an Italian voice to the European B Corp movement as one of the network’s European Country Partners.

Who we are looking for

• Corporate / for-profit experience or at least a solid understanding of how medium to large businesses operate and the ability to speak the business language
• A senior professional with management experience who is comfortable with dealing with a highly entrepreneurial and international team, with a hands on, can – do approach
• A leader who is a strong communicator at all levels, dealing with institutional stakeholders
• A resourceful individual with a  great network of businesses and key stakeholders, who is informed and fluent in the areas of impact generation, measurement, circularity, sustainability and investment so as to interpret their perspective from an informed position.
• Native Italian speaker with a strong command of English
