Numerik’s BIA Advisory method involves company’ management teams in 5 phases:

1) basic literacy on interdependence, stakeholder value, triple bottom line, and climate change topics;

2) reassessment of the meaning of value to the company, its purpose and commitment to stakeholders;

3) diagnosing the current state of affairs by filling BIA for the first time, establishing the baseline;

4) setting the desired state of affairs of the company;

5)  proactively conducting the leaders of the company into changing their policies & practices to reach the desired state.

When faced with “value for stakeholders” matters, the main challenge of Boardrooms it that their very conception is essentially linked to a shareholder-centric mindset. Any pro-stakeholder decisions taken based on that paradigm are partial, episodic, and not rooted in a full commitment of the company with a value-centric approach.

Based on that, Numerik’s approach to Boardroom change includes 3 movements:

1) Literacy: re-building management’s conceptions on purpose, value and the role of the Boardroom as the guardian of value for all stakeholders;

2) Dashboard: re-setting Boardroom’s set of critical management indicators, changing the focus from financial to a triple-bottom-line view of the company;

3) Incentives: re-setting goals and incentive packages to include socio-environmental indicators.
