Amsterdam, July 25, 2024 – While we may already be halfway through 2024, today, B Lab Europe, the organization behind the European B Corp movement, launches its 2023 Annual Report to showcase our work, impact and progress of the past year.
In this report you will read about our focus on expanding the B Corp movement, setting high standards for businesses, and strengthening our advocacy efforts. By focusing on these strategic areas, we aim to deepen our impact, inspire broader participation across the network, and contribute to a European and global economy that benefits all stakeholders.

In 2023, the B Corp community in Europe grew by 42%, with 484 new companies joining across 29 countries. In 2024, we expect to reach 2,000 Certified B Corps across Europe (excluding the UK).
Together with our local partners and the entire B Corp community, we’ve celebrated 10 years of the B Corp movement in Europe. While we continue to nurture and grow existing local communities, our Markets Development team’s focus is on fostering meaningful growth of the B Corp movement across new borders. With our newly launched community platform, B Community, we aim to connect B Corps from all across Europe and facilitate impactful collaboration across countries.
In 2023, we’ve also learned that Europeans want companies to behave like B Corps – prioritizing transparency, accountability, and positive impact on people and the planet.
Setting high standards for businesses through evolving our standards for B Corp Certification and advocating for stringent EU legislation that holds all businesses accountable continued to be among our top priorities throughout 2023.
