About Moyee

Moyee is a coffee company. Growing radically good coffee is what they do. Roasting this radically good coffee in the country of origin is how they do it. Sharing the value of this radically good coffee fairly and honestly with the men and women that grow it is why they exist.

So as you can see, Moyee’s goal isn’t just simply to produce and sell radically good coffee, but also to create radical social change. And because coffee is one of the world’s most popular products, they figured coffee is a great place to start. The supply chain for coffee is broken, and it’s been broken for a long time, but instead of complain about it, Moyee aims to fix it. This is what they’re getting at with their tagline ‘radically good coffee’. It is radically good in terms of its positive impact on the coffee chain.

Moyee calls their philosophy FairChain, which basically means they roast our coffee in the countries that grow our coffee. Sounds trivial maybe, but their farmers earn 300% more than simply exporting green beans to the West. And they earn twice as much as Fairtrade, though they are pushing for more.

B Corps are the change makers. They're the ones out the front of the pack, fearlessly breaking new ground in corporate social responsibility. And although it looks like we're pre-occupied producing amazing coffees for our legions of fans, what we're actually doing is showing the coffee industry how it can be done -so that change, REAL CHANGE, can become a reality. So becoming a B Corp was for us a natural step to join the community of change-makers who share our dream.

The Change We Seek®

The radical revolutionaries who turn up for work each day at Moyee aren't just there for the free coffee (that they swill down like water, by the way). Far from it. They're there to see change happen, and NOW! (Ok, coffee can have that effect on all of us). But what's driving this band of radicals is something far more powerful than caffeinated perfection. Rather, they share a common vision in tipping the scales on the giants of the coffee industry that have been taking advantage of their position in the global trade system for far too long. That's why Moyee roasts their coffee in Ethiopia, to add value to the coffee while it's still there, in the country of origin where it was grown. This means a better deal for the farmers, a great cup of coffee for you, and a happy end to each day for those radical revolutionaries. Every one wins!
