About Montagne

In 2005, one of the cofounders randomly discovered the hamlet of Commeire while he was on a ski trip and directly fell in love with the place. The nature was splendid, quiet and seemed to rule the small but sunny village. It was magic. However, many building were falling apart abandoned under tons of snow. Slowly a project emerged, and with the help of a friend, an adventure began. After nine years, they renovated six ancient barns, one of which became a beautiful restaurant. Their bet was to propose a new and different approach of hostelry, respectful of the environment and of the local population so every visitors could enjoy the magic of the place.

Located on the south side of a mountain in the country of Saint Bernard (Switzerland), overlooking beautiful sceneries, those ancient barns combined make up a comfortable and contemporary lodge, Montagne Alternative. Today, this hotel has all the infrastructure needed and can welcome up to 60 guests. The warm barns shelter beautiful double rooms with private bathroom, two seminar rooms with a capacity of 30 people and a restaurant where local and bio-organic food is served. Activities such as yoga, excursion, mountaineering, cooking classes, etc. are offered.

Only a two hours drive from Geneva, Montagne Alternative offers an opportunity to resource oneself in a unique way, surrounded by an environment preserved through time. It is easy to get in touch with the locals who have been living here for decades. Guests can learn about bioagriculture by visiting the garden, which provides food for the restaurant. Energy is delivered thanks to solar panel or hydrolic station from the valley. In this quiet panorama, guests can take time to meditate and rediscover their true nature or share time with friends or colleagues.
