About AlmaNatura

In 2013, AlmaNatura became Spain’s first Certified B Corp. We originally started as a non-profit organization, but we are currently a S.L. that works for the revitalization and revaluation of rural life in Spain from our operation in Arroyomolinos de León, a small town in the Huelva province. Becoming a Certified B Corporation unifies everything we’ve always been – a group of social entrepreneurs that manage the business’ resources for social and environmental good. It is a perfect symbiosis between our original nonprofit values and the responsible and efficient management of a social enterprise.

Mission: Maintaining populations in rural communities

  • If too many people leave rural areas, the Mediterranean forest will be abandoned, causing serious fires and forest mass losses. This will also affect the economic and ecological footprint of rural populations, which is not good for people or the planet. To this end, AlmaNatura proposes the revitalization of rural areas through municipal project implementations that don’t force people to leave their hometowns to find work. Currently 85% of Spain’s population is concentrated in its largest cities.

Services that AlmaNatura offers

  • AlmaNatura’s services are specifically targeted to rural citizens. These are vulnerable individuals who live in rural areas of Spain, and who need employment, technological literacy and development in order to improve the competitive edge of individuals and businesses, etc. AlmaNatura’s four main tools to achieve its mission are: use of technology, education improvement, health improvement and improvement of employment opportunities. In order to achieve these objectives, AlmaNatura offers training that empowers individuals who live in rural areas, and encourages them to continue living in their hometowns.

The Change We Seek®

AlmaNatura seeks a true transformation of rural communities, moving towards a simple and valuable life that allows people and the planet to live in harmony. Our mission is to impart on powerful institutions the need to face both current and future challenges, so that we all win and can build a more just and humane society.
