Dutch companies, including B Corps, appeal to government to adopt sustainable policy
This week a coalition of 200+ Dutch companies and organizations, including B Corps, appealed to the Dutch government to priorities the UN Sustainable Development Goals within the upcoming government coalition agreement.
The Netherlands has committed in 2015 to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations for making the world a better place by 2030. The coalition of Dutch organizations wants to make sure that policy will be aligned with the SDGs, prioritizing issues as the transition to renewable energy, (over) production and consumption, poverty, hunger, health, inequality and climate change on a local, national and global level.
“We – a coalition of companies and social enterprises – cannot stress more the importance of the SDGs as a tool to create a sustainable society now and for future generations. They are vital for our global society, but also enable a healthy and resilient Dutch Economy”.
B Lab Europe, together with Dutch B Corps (Triodos Bank, Solarus, Waka Waka, Tony’s Chocolonely, Copper8, Sungevity, van Wijhe Verf, BBK, Bluerise), joined the coalition by signing the appeal.
B Lab was founded to serve a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Its vision, fully aligned with the SDGs, is that one day all companies will compete to be Best for the World and as a result society will enjoy a shared and durable prosperity.
